Espresso Equipment

Espresso is a coffee brewing method that is made by forcing very hot water and finely ground, tamped coffee through fine screens. The properly made finished espresso (aka a “shot”) is a beautiful hazelnut brown, 1.5 – 2 ml beverage with a nice, thick “crema” layer that lays on at approximately 1/8 of an inch deep.

Espresso is also the base for cappuccino, latte’s, café au lait’s, café machiato’s, café mocha’s and café americano’s.

As mentioned, espresso is a brewing method, not any specific bean, varietal, or roasting method.
